The BEST checklist to prepare your home for real estate pictures

Properly readying your house can not only make the difference in selling your home quicker, but it can also increase your chances of getting it sold at the asking price.

(General) Home Interior

Declutter all smaller items in every room (Cleaners, documents, remotes, etc)

  • Dust ALL surfaces in every room

  • Vacuum all carpeted floors

  • Sweep and mop all wood and tile floors

  • Put family photos in storage

  • Wipe and clean all windows inside and out

  • Wipe and clean all mirrors

  • Hide or remove any visible cords and cables

 
 

Living Room

  • Clean fireplace

  • Declutter (tv remotes, cables, etc.)

  • Reduce the number of pillows to 2 per couch

  • Decorate the coffee table with magazines

 
 

Kitchen

  • Put away soaps, cleaning products, etc.

  • Counter-top appliances to a minimum

  • Remove all magnets on the refrigerator

  • Remove garbage can

 
 

Bedrooms

  • Make sure beds are clean and made

  • Clear and dust bedside tables

  • Clear and dust dressers and other surfaces

  • Declutter all smaller items

 
 

Bathrooms

  • Scrub and clean all bathtub surfaces.

  • Put away all toiletries

  • Clean the toilet and place the seat down

  • Keep rugs to a minimum

 
 

(General) Home Exterior

  • Put away bikes, toys, or any tools

  • Remove any holiday decorations

  • Remove or replace any dying plants

  • Place flowers or greenery around porch
